Indiana COVID cases: 6,912 new cases, 63 new deaths reported

Indiana reported 6,912 new cases of the coronavirus Friday and 63 additional deaths over the past 11 days, bringing the state’s totals to 282,311 cases and 4,952 deaths.

The seven-day average for deaths each day is now higher than it was at the peak of the pandemic.

Four days ago more than 400 people were admitted to the state’s hospitals with symptoms of COVID.

Here are some other statistics of note:

  • How many people in Indiana hospitals with COVID-19: 3,077.
  • Intensive care unit bed availability: 21.6% of 2,153 beds. 41.7% of beds are occupied by COVID patients.
  • Ventilator availability: 73% of 2,801.
  • State positivity rates (seven-day average rate as of Nov. 13): For all tests performed, 12.1%. For unique individuals, 23.5%.
  • Average number of deaths a day as of Nov. 13: 40.
  • Regenstrief Institute estimate of how many people are currently infected: 75,426.
