Indianapolis police have arrested two people in connection to the fatal Christmas Day shooting of 40-year-old Tiffiny Allen.
On Sunday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives arrested Zacharia J. Schmidt, 35, and Chelsea M. Schmidt, 25, for their alleged role in the shooting that happened shortly after 4 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Hunter Road.
According to Marion County Jail records, Zacharia Schmidt is facing a preliminary charge of murder and Chelsea Schmidt is facing a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate and will make a final charging determination.
Police said responding officers located Allen suffering from gunshot wounds after being called to the southeast side neighborhood on a call of a person shot on Dec. 25.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Additional information about the circumstances of the shooting has not yet been released.
